INTRODUCTION

There are few things in this world that Dr. George Sparks enjoys more than encouraging and helping motivate others to achieve their goals. He has a unique ability to truly connect with others through his energetic speaking style and humorous story telling. This approach allows him to reach and relate equally well to individuals as well as groups ranging from 10-20 to as large as several hundred.

Dr. Sparks has a passion for higher education, most of which he received in his adult years. Throughout his education, one thing has really stuck with him: it is much easier to go to college when you are young and "know everything" than waiting until you are in your thirties and supporting a family! Overall, however, perhaps the greatest thing he learned is that the key to academic success relies on primarily two basic principles: determination and persistence. This insight is what inspired him to start this endeavor, so he could share this experience with others traveling down the same path and keep them motivated to stay with it 'til the end!

His professional career began as a police officer in North Dallas. He discovered early on that he could defuse just about any high tension situation with humor; this approach assisted him greatly in establishing a rapport with those he met on a daily basis. He was firm and fair, but was most remembered for being friendly and funny. His genuine concern for those he served was apparent in the individual interest he took in the lives of those he encountered.

After leaving law enforcement, Dr. Sparks entered the world of management consulting where he focused on business process design and information technology management. With his passion for education always burning, he transitioned into the world of higher education and is now a full time college professor and public speaker. He is readily available to speak to individuals on a one-to-one basis, or address larger groups or school assemblies. One thing is for certain, after meeting with him, you will look at education in an entirely new light! You will feel empowered to find your path, start the journey and ultimately reach your destination.
